Sani Resort: Which Hotel Should You Choose?
Sani Resort is a luxury family friendly resort in Halkidiki, Greece. It’s incredibly popular with families and for good reason! When it comes to making holidays easy for parents and enjoyable for the whole family they have thought of everything. From amazing childcare, incredible food (with options for the fussiest of eaters), luxury family friendly accommodation, entertainment and sporting activities to suit everyone, it really is the perfect resort.
Sani Resort is made up of 5 separate hotels, which have been designed to suit different groups of people. Some are better for babies and toddlers, some for older kids, some are better for the pool, others for the beach, so it’s important to choose the right hotel for you. Of course budget will also come into it, as they vary in price as well.
We have put together a guide to help you choose which hotel at Sani Resort is best for you.
Sani Beach
This resort is often the lowest price out of the 5 hotels, so if you’re looking to keep the cost down then Sani Beach is a great choice. It’s a brilliant hotel for families and has a lovely kids pool and splash park area, a huge playground and kids club. Sani Beach is a high res building, whereas all of the other hotels in Sani Resort are over a maximum of 2 floors. This does mean that many of the rooms have great sea views. Both the rooms and public areas at Sani Beach are having a full refurbishment in Winter 2024/5.
In terms of location Sani Beach is on the far right of the resort . It is located right next to the watersports centre and scuba diving. It’s also the closest resort to the Sani Treetop Adventure and Bear Grylls Survival Academy. Sani Beach is a bit further away from the central marina area, so you can either take a buggy or it’s a 10-15 minute walk.
When staying at Sani Beach you get access to the full dine-around program across the whole resort. If you wish to eat from the a la carte menu rather than the set menu you will have a credit towards this of €20pp and €10pp for children.
Sani Club
This is another brilliant hotel for families, especially for over 5’s. Sani Club is elevated and quite hilly, which means you get great views from the rooms and throughout the resort, but it’s not ideal if you are pushing a buggy around. This resort also doesn’t have it’s own splash park, which younger children might prefer. The rooms at Sani Club are really big and spacious with a modern stylish design. This is the only hotel at Sani Resort with 1 and 2 bedroom suites with private pools and the pools are big.
Sani Club is on the far left of the resort and more separated from the rest of the resort. To get over to the other hotels and the marina you can either walk along the beach, take a shuttle bus, or jump in one of the chauffeur driven Volvo’s which regularly drive between the hotels.
It also has it’s own watersports centre. It feels more like a hotel on it’s own, with everything you need onsite, but with the benefits of accessing the rest of the resort if you want the additional dining and facilities.
When staying at Sani Club you again get access to the full dine-around program across the whole resort. If you wish to eat from the a la carte menu rather than the set menu you will have a credit towards this of €20pp and €10pp for children.
Porto Sani
For families with babies and toddlers, Porto Sani is ideal. It’s flat, so easy to walk around with a buggy, has a splash park and a huge kids club and creche. It’s the only hotel within Sani Resort to offer the full range of Little Guest amenities in the room. They also offer a baby consulting service which provides you with everything from advice on flying with a baby to organising everything you need for your baby/toddler in resort. The rooms here are all designed with families in mind, with plenty of space and either a private garden or large grand balcony.
Location wise it’s right in the centre of the resort and behind the marina. This means it’s not beachfront so you don’t get sea views from this resort, but it does have it’s own section of beach that’s just a short walk. There are several large lagoon style pools, plus an indoor pool and adults only outdoor pool. This resort was renovated just last year so it looks really new and with beautiful interiors. As it’s the newest of the resorts they’ve placed some of the best restaurants here including El Puerto, a Spanish restaurant by Michelin-starred chef David Ibarboure and Lima, an incredible Peruvian restaurant.
When staying at Porto you again get access to the full dine-around program across the whole resort and this is the only hotel to come with full board as standard (breakfast, lunch and dinner). If you wish to eat from the a la carte menu rather than the set menu you will have an increased credit towards this of €25pp and €12.50pp for children.
Sani Dunes
When Sani Dunes first opened it was an adults only hotel and whilst it opened it’s doors to families after the first season, it still remains better suited to either adults or families with older children. There is no kids club here, but guests can use the kids club at Porto Sani if they wish to. One of the best features of Sani Dunes is the pool. The beachfront pool is the largest in Northern Greece and has great views out over the ocean.
It’s also has a very central location in the resort, next to the marina. As Sani Dunes is on the beachfront some of the rooms have amazing sea views and it also has a lovely beachfront restaurant, where they also serve breakfast.
When staying at Sani Dunes you again get access to the full dine-around program across the whole resort. If you wish to eat from the a la carte menu rather than the set menu you will have an increased credit towards this of €25pp and €12.50pp for children.
Sani Asterias
This is the most luxurious hotel at Sani Resort, with more of a boutique feel. There are only 53 rooms at Sani Asterias and it’s the most private of all the hotels. Sani Asterias currently has quite opulent decor, however it is undergoing a complete renovation this winter and will reopen next Spring with a new more contemporary and chic style. They are also introducing brand new Residential style suites, which will be by far Sani’s most exclusive. These new Residence suites will be located either beach or marina front and will come with either one or two bedrooms, plus a spacious living room and several with large private pools.
There is no kids club at Sani Asterias, and overall it’s better suited to adults or families seeking more privacy as the two and three bedroom suites and residences are very spacious, both inside and out.
Sani Asterias is adjacent to Sani marina and has it’s own private beach. It is also home to Over Water Restaurant, where two Michelin-starred chef Stephanie Le Quellec conjures up a French culinary experience . This restaurant is for over 12s only.
