COMO Laucala Island

Remote, refined and richly immersive—COMO Laucala Island is one of the most exclusive private island escapes in the world. Set in the northern reaches of the Fijian archipelago, this 3,500-acre sanctuary blends dramatic volcanic landscapes with sugar-white beaches, dense rainforest and coral-rich lagoons. Every inch feels deliberately untouched, yet every experience is seamlessly curated.

There are just 25 villas here, each one entirely private and deeply connected to its surroundings. Whether tucked into jungle, positioned above the lagoon or set right on the beach, every villa features generous indoor-outdoor living, a private pool, and design inspired by traditional Fijian architecture—think thatched roofs, natural textures and hand-carved details.

The island is entirely self-sustaining, with a working farm that supplies the five restaurants, and a focus on holistic wellbeing through COMO Shambhala. You’ll find an 18-hole championship golf course, a fleet of boats (including one submarine), and a team that tailors every stay around your pace and preferences. From diving at untouched reef sites to sunset sails and quiet spa rituals, this is slow travel at its most elevated.

Location

COMO Laucala Island, Fiji

COMO Laucala Island sits just off the northeast coast of Taveuni, in Fiji’s less-travelled northern Lau archipelago. This part of the Pacific feels far removed from the usual flight paths—untouched, unhurried, and all the more special for it. Access is seamless but never rushed. After arriving at Nadi International Airport, guests are transferred via a 50-minute private flight arranged by the resort, landing directly on the island’s own runway. From there, it’s a short drive through dense palms and dramatic greenery to your villa.

Your

accommodation

Each of COMO Laucala’s 25 villas is a private, free-standing retreat—designed to feel part of the island, not placed on it. Crafted using local materials and traditional techniques, they strike a quiet balance between authenticity and sophistication: think thatched roofs, soaring ceilings, and open-air living areas framed by palms and sea.

All villas come with private pools, oversized outdoor bathtubs, and generous indoor–outdoor space. Interiors are serene and grounded, with natural textures and handcrafted details throughout.

Some are set beachfront among coconut groves, others tucked into the hillside with wide ocean views. There’s even one villa suspended above the water, and another on its own peninsula with a private beach and jetty—ultra-exclusive, even by Laucala standards.

Every stay includes a personal buggy, in-villa dining on request, and the effortless attentiveness COMO is known for. The kind of comfort that lets you truly switch off.

Questions

Yes. Rates include all meals, beverages (excluding premium wines and spirits), select activities, and even one daily spa treatment per guest. It’s a genuinely all-encompassing experience.

Very much so. Villas are spacious and completely private, and there’s a dedicated kids’ club offering creative, culturally-inspired activities. Many of the experiences—horse riding, snorkelling, cooking classes—can be tailored for younger travellers. Being such a remote, secluded retreat, it is also perfect for honeymooners and couples seeking total serenity.

Absolutely. With five restaurants and a vast organic farm on the island, the chefs can tailor menus to suit any dietary needs—from plant-based to gluten-free and everything in between.

Many island experiences are included: guided snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, cultural workshops, cooking classes, and more. Some activities—like deep-sea fishing or submarine dives—come at an extra cost, but are well worth considering.
